As you share your story, I will be listening to hear all that you're facing, the things that feel easy or hard to talk about, and how long you've been carrying them. We will pay attention to the things that surprise you with how much emotion they bring up, as well as the things that leave you flat or numb to talk about.
I’ll listen for the context you are living in, and have lived in. And as you share and we get into the texture of your life, I'll start to slow us down in key moments where I see an opening for deeper and more transformative healing or growth.
As we put words to your experiences, thoughts, and feelings, I will also make suggestions for various resources, coping tools, and treatments to address the challenges you're facing. For those with anxiety, this may include mindfulness, for example. For those processing traumas, this may include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). For those experiencing obsessions and compulsions, this may include Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) or Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
My approach is first of all to honor your humanity and create space for you to be in process, and then move into a more directive approach when we have identified something specific you would like my guidance about how to press into.
