Therapy with Allie
You have been trying hard for a long time. You’ve tried coping on your own already, and can sense that you are in need of an outside source of support.
That instinct to seek support is a seed for good things to grow. Resilience research shows that even in the face of what would seem like overwhelming difficulties, people can grow and flourish in ways that last and impact generations. Some of the biggest contributors to that kind of growth are stable, supportive relationships, as well as adaptive beliefs and coping patterns.
My work is designed to help you in all of these ways. If you want growth, relief, confidence, peace, and connection – I am here to support you in your journey. I bring warmth, creativity, and honesty, and I will first and foremost listen with respect. I will also help you work on your beliefs and coping patterns with practical and effective tools and treatments.
Foundations of treatment with Allie
Hope
I believe things can get better. I’ve had the privilege of watching that happen as a therapist for more than 10 years. Together, we’ll hold your goals and vulnerabilities, and take things one step at a time. Those steps add up to changes which can shift your or your family’s trajectory.
Wholeness
I am here to support you in your movement toward greater wholeness. We will add knowledge, tools, and resources; lean into your strengths; expand dormant aspects of your personality; and learn to relate in new ways to your weaknesses or areas of suffering.
I also aim to draw from the breadth of this field of psychotherapy — bring a holistic version of treament that draws from both practical, hands-on theoretical approaches as well as from theories that honor the complexity of the human experience.
Respect
I respect you, and am here to support you in more confidently taking the reins in your life. I am an expert in the process of therapy, but you are an expert on you. When we work together, I will guide you from the side.
In my work with kids and teens, this approach is the same. It’s my hope that sessions with me will convey to your child that I take them seriously (Even though sessions may be quite playful!). I believe in their ability to know themselves and steer their life in meaningful ways when they are empowered with a sense of ownership and support.
Play Therapy
I work with children ages 3-12 on behavioral, emotional, and relational issues.
Therapy for Adults
I work with adults of all ages, blending open-ended growth-oriented work with targeted treatments addressing specific symptoms.
