Twice Exceptional / Neurodivergent Development

I have great respect for children who are navigating neurodivergent development. Often times, they are quite gifted in certain areas and very engaged in their interests, but then crash hard into walls of obstacles when presented with tasks that daily life demands of them. This is such a frustrating experience. And for parents, it can be very frustrating, too, and sometimes quite isolating.

I find it brings so much relief when we understand where these difficulties are coming from and learn where to focus our efforts. I use a holistic framework that attends to the intersection of executive functioning, sensory processing, basic regulation, and emotional experience of the child. We pull all this together to bring regulation first, then connection, and finally skill building into our sessions. My goal is not to fix your child, but to help them find greater self acceptance and confidence, and to use playfulness and a little bit of savvy to work through one challenge at a time.
