Therapy for children
Changes
Your child may have gone through a change or transition which has rocked their world. This could be the death of a close loved one, the divorce of their parents, a move across the country, the incarceration of a parent, or any other change that radically alters who they spend their time with and where.
Often times, when something like this happens, children simply need someone to talk to. They need a place to voice their feelings and thoughts where they aren’t concerned that doing so will further stress or hurt another of their loved ones.
My office is a safe place to come share these thoughts and feelings where children can know their experiences will be held in safe keeping, separate from home life, until the next week. I use art, stories, play, and conversation to help normalize children’s experiences and help them find sources of strength, nurturance, and comfort.
